1. Waterfalls
If you are going to a city known as "The City of Waterfalls", you have to at least see why it came to be named that. Tews Falls is the Hamilton version of Niagara Falls and the tallest fall in Hamilton. It is about 135 feet(41 meters) tall and is the most popular fall in Hamilton. Tews Falls is located near Dundurn, near Hamilton Farmer's Market and Hermitage Ruins. The best time to visit is during spring as it may dry up during the summer.

2. Canadian Warplanes Heritage Museum
If you want to learn more about the rich Canadian military history, a day at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum will definitely impress you. You will get access to the 40 aircraft that are now available for viewing. Although some of the planes are still in restoration, a good number of them are available for viewing. You will view the planes were used in World War II including the famous Avro Lancaster. You will also find many other interesting artifacts related to Canada's war history. If you are visiting with kids, make sure you have them try the free Flight Simulation which allows them to control a flight for 10 minutes.

This is another great spot to visit especially if you are with kids. The African Lion Safari is family-owned park and has about 100 species of animals and over 1,000 exotic birds. There are plenty of walkways for guests which allow you to see animals like the majestic lions, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, ostrich, kangaroos, and other animals. Pass by the lake and see some elephants swimming and bathing in the lake. It's one of the cutest things you will ever see.
4. Sam Lawrence Park
This park is known for having some of the best views of Hamilton city and the ocean. It sits on a high ground overlooking Hamilton city and the coast. It is only a short drive from town and if you don't have a car, public transport is available to take you there. The park has lush gardens, rock gardens, winding paths, and benches to relax on as you take in the beauty of Hamilton.
5. Art Gallery of Hamilton
If you love art, you have to visit the art gallery. The Art Gallery of Hamilton is the third largest art gallery in Canada and it has a rich collection of more than 10,000 artworks. It features different exhibits after every six months and has programs for kids and families such as the popular Summer Family Fun Holiday. There are also a number of restaurants close by.
